At K&M Bamboo Products we take pride in knowing that our flooring products are manufactured from a renewable source: bamboo, and run a fully integrated operation from bamboo forest to finished Silkroad® product.

As part of our commitment to strengthening our environment, K&M Bamboo has implemented ideal environmental practices. Growing at a rate of an inch per day, the bamboo — when cut, is not uprooted so that it can grow again and again.

K&M Bamboo is not simply an importer, for nearly 11 years we've worked side-by-side with our manufacturing facilities in China to ensure our products are manufactured to the stern, environmentally-responsible specifications the Silkroad brand has been known for.

Our Silkroad brand was the first and only flooring brand certified by the Canadian government's Environmental Choice Program (EcoLogo), receiving recognition throughout Canada,  The United States, and Mexico. This symbol of quality means that you can be assured Silkroad bamboo flooring is less harmful to the environment that non-certified alternatives.

Another key area of commitment is towards strengthening and building our communities. K&M Bamboo has donated its Silkroad bamboo flooring to Habitat For Humanity® projects in the Toronto area and has sent its own staff to help build educational facilities in South America. In July 2005, K&M bamboo helped raise $200,000 to help increase awareness of the World Wildlife Fund®'s conservation work around the world.
